Yoast SEO 21.7 is out now. In this release, we bring an improved first-time configuration, making it easier for people to get started. Also, we fixed several bugs and added some enhancements. Find out more about what's new in Yoast SEO 21.7 in our release post!
- Removes a superfluous warning in the first time configuration when the site environment is non-production.
- Fixes a bug where an additional Organization, Person schema piece would be wrongly generated for author pages when a website representing an organization was set to represent a person different from the author.
- Fixes a bug where the initial state for the website name would be empty when saving the site representation step in the first time configuration.
- Fixes a bug where modifications to the analysis data would not be included in the Insights analysis.
- Fixes a bug where the "view" button for tracking SEO performance would have the wrong size when editing a post in Elementor and Classic editor.
- Adds checks to ensure that the plugin has no known incompatibilities with PHP 8.3.
- Improves the discoverability of the security policy.
- Improves the instructions in the first-time configuration so that they're easier to follow.
- Improves the new installation screen layout and design.
- Provides a filter to add a list of shortcodes so they can be parsed and then included in our content analysis in Classic editor.

- Adds support for the new wp_attachment_pages_enabled option introduced by WordPress 6.4, reducing the chances of inconsistencies with Yoast SEO's own "Enable media pages" setting.
- Improves the inclusive languageanalysis by making the feedback more clear and consistent, refining the list of targeted phrases, and adding more alternatives for some of the non-inclusive phrases. Specifically, this includes the following changes:
- Aligns the traffic light color and written feedback for all phrases.
- Makes some feedback strings more accurate by replacing the word ‘overgeneralizing’ with ‘harmful’.
- Adds ‘Rom’ and ‘Roma’ as additional alternatives to ‘gypsy’.
- Adds additional alternatives to ‘homosexuals’.
- Improves the feedback shown for the phrases ‘abnormal behaviour’, ‘behaviourally normal’, and ‘behaviourally abnormal’.
- Improves the feedback shown for the word ‘minorities’.
- Removes ‘narcissistic’ as a targeted phrase when followed by ‘personality disorder’.
- Removes ‘Ebonics’ and ‘normal behaviour’ from the list of targeted phrases.
- Removes the automatic rel=nofollow attribute for links in the RSS feed.
- Fixes a bug where console warnings about incorrect prop types would be shown on the integrations page.
- Prevents the Pattern Category taxonomy (introduced in WordPress 6.4) to be indexed and hides it in the settings page.
- Improves the FAQ block description by removing any reference to the previous restriction of one block per post.
- Improves the inline documentation for the WPSEO_Option class. Props to costdev.
- Leverages Script Strategy feature to add the async attribute to the wordproof script in case WordPress version is 6.3 or higher. Props to adamsilverstein.
- Sets the WordPress tested up to version to 6.4.
- Renames the Social preview sections to clarify which preview applies to which platform.
- Fixes a bug where the cornerstone and inclusive language columns would be inadvertently displayed on product attribute terms.
- Fixes a bug where the Table of Contents block header would be displayed in the user language instead of the site language.
- Allows user to manage their consent when using the AI Generator even if the feature is turned off.
- Avoids registering the routes related to the AI Generator when the feature is disabled.
- Bumps the minimum required version of Yoast SEO to 21.2.
- Sets the minimum supported WordPress version to 6.2.
